Karen

    Karen Holland was made near London. (Chinese Mum + English Dad)
She started learning music early on, singing in choirs and playing in youth orchestras and jazz bands.		  
 
  She joined her first band aged 12. Joined various other bands throughout school and University where she studied Art and Design. (Incidentally she now works as a graphic designer.)  
 
   

Musical influences: Goldfrapp, Stereolab, Scissor sisters, Ladytron, Royksopp, Air, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Kraftwerk, Kylie, Ladytron, Sparks, Pizzicato 5, Tori Amos, Blondie, Elastica, Pulp, Abba, The Carpenters, Debussy.

Other influences: Paula Rego, Francis Bacon, Angelina Jolie, painting, designing and making clothes, Chinese cinema, the Orient, comics, sci fi, GBA, computers, turtles, cats, tea, sushi, cocktails, food in general!
